Tetsuya Kakihara (柿原 徹也 Kakihara Tetsuya , born December 24, 1982 in Düsseldorf, West Germany) is a well known Japanese voice actor who is affiliated with 81 Produce. Until the age of 18, he resided abroad in Düsseldorf, Germany.
He is currently affiliated with "Kiramune" in 2010, a music label by Bandai Visual Co., Ltd. and Lantis_(company), where he debuted as a Singer with his first mini album 'Still on Journey' with 6 original tracks. His upcoming 2nd mini album is titled 'Continuous' also with 6 new tracks, is to be released February 2012 and is currently accepting pre-orders on most online shops.
He is very active in a lot of Anime, Games, Drama Cds/ Radio host roles, and in Live Shows events (released on DVDs), in Japan. An interesting and talented fact about Kakihara is that he is Trilingual; fluent in German and Japanese and near-fluent in English. He used to know five languages: German, Japanese, English, Spanish, and Latin. He is the only Japanese person to voice a device in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's, with the German-speaking devices Lævateinn and Graf Eisen.

He went to AMUSEMENT MEDIA Academy (a vocational school for voice actors and artists) to study voice acting. The reason he wanted to become a voice actor is because he believes that by becoming one, he'll be more fluent in the Japanese language. [1] And so he debuted as a voice actor in 2003.
Kakihara is capable in doing a broad range of voices in this works. In Anime, Kakihara is known for playing roles as young boys/teenagers with a 'firey' personality. In Game and Drama CDs, he plays a more teenager and mature roles, and is known for his unique soft, sweet, and mysterious voice mainly in Otome games.
In 2007, at the First Seiyu Awards ceremony in Japan, he received the 'Best Male Newcomer/Rookie' award. [2]

He will also attend next year's Kiramune Live Music Festival 2012, which will be held on March 17 & 18, 2012 in Japan.
